The pressure is irresistible, Alhaji Zakari Abubakar Ola is been asked to join the Kogi West Senatorial race come 2027 on the platform of his party, All Progressive Congress (APC). This pressure is coming from all strata of people in Okun speaking areas and particularly Lokoja/Kogi federal Constituency.
The clarion call is from political class, youths, women, various political groups and indeed, from all stakeholders in the zone. Expectations are high that Zakari Ola may make public declaration soon accepting to run for the plum seat.
Since inception of his aspiration to contest for senate, his Abuja office and Lokoja residence was turned place of sorts as supporters, members of the ruling party APC and representatives of various organizations in Okun speaking areas and Lokoja/Kogi federal Constituency filed in to convince him to pledge their support to ensure that he sails through the APC primary and general election.
Confluence Times Online attested to the over rousing welcome the supporters of Zakari Ola accorded him during the Lokoja Day celebration at the Maigari’s palace venue of the occasion to showcase their love and support for his aspiration. One of the pronounced groups was the top politicians from the area.
The support for Zakari Ola is on the lips of majority of the people in the area. Its the song coming out from the mouths of all categories of people.
Also, Lokoja-kogi indigenes in the Diaspora are not left behind in adding their voices from a far to that of the thousands at home to call for Zakari Ola to contest for the senate seat.
