The Zakari Ola’s Support Group (ZOSG), have reaffirmed their strong commitment and support for the Kogi West Senatorial bid of Ustaz, Alh. Zakari Abubakar Ola, and no amount of intimidation, harassment, campaign of calumny, character assasination and evil machinations from any quarter can stop his aspiration.
The group in a statement made available to Confluence Times Online, said, Zakari is not out to trade words with any group or anybody as far as his interest to contest for the seat of Kogi West Senatorial bid is concern.
According to the ZOSG, some political job seekers go to extent of saying Ustaz Zakari is capitalizing on feud between Senator Karimi and Governor Ododo and former Governor Bello, to have free ride to secure party ticket. The group disclosed, Zakari is not even aware of any friction between them, let alone capitalizing on on he Karimi’s problem with the governor to actualise his aspiration.
The group further explained that all they’re aware of was Senator Karimi recent attack on the leader, the former Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello when he do criticized him after the endorsement rally of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Ododo for their second term bid, saying “Kogites need no coercion to vote for President Tinubu in 2027, describing the recent Lokoja endorsement rally as unnecessary and self serving, faulted the event allegedly led by former Governor Bello, calling it insensitive and politically motivated”.
They also buttressed that, the visit of Senator Karimi and his co – driver to Governor Ododo for reconciliation is uncalled for, describing it unnecessary after the condemned recent endorsement rally by Karimi gone viral on social medias.
ZOSG pointed out, that Governor Ododo is a father to all in the state, irrespective of political differences, and as a listening governor, he accommodates everybody and aspirants seeking for support from him.
They noted that, the visit by Karimi and his co – driver was pretentious without clear definition, but a way of playing along to achieve his aim for his second term bid. “But can he be trusted” they said.
They maintained that the group stands for fairness, equity and justice. The Okun speaking area have been dominating the political space of the zone by holding on to the Senate Seat for almost 20 years and for any possibility Karimi gets second term, it will amount to 24 years, stressed that during Governor Wada’s tenure, Arch. Yomi Awoniyi, was the Deputy Governor of the state, and at same period, the area clinched unto the senate seat without consideration for Lokoja/Kogi (Koton-Karfe) federal constituency.
In a clear term, Karimi and his desperate bid, is like a drowning man looking for safety, the group added.
