With the ongoing political brouhaha rocking All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Kogi, there’s likely going to be imminent sack of some political appointees and changes in the leadership of Kogi State House of Assembly.

This is coming at the heel of serious factional crisis rocking the party. The crisis has taken another dimension to extent of code named Audu/Faleke and Ododo/Bello camp as both fighting for supremacy and who takes control of the party’s structure ahead of 2027 general elections.

This crisis, if not properly manage and checkmate may snowball into general election and the opposition parties may take advantage of the situation to sail through to success.

To make matter worse, was the pebbles and verbal attacks thrown at each other by the two camps after the recent endorsement rally of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for 2027 re-election bid, held at Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja, where Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, said Kogites need no coercion to vote for President Tinubu in 2027, describing the Lokoja endorsement rally as unnecessary and self serving, faulted the event allegedly led by former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, calling it insensitive and politically motivated.

In a related development, a former member of the party, Hon. Muritala Ajaka, but now a member of Social Democratic party, (SDP). He contested for the governorship seat of the state under the platform, also lambasted former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, that someone that was defeated by a female contestant in the last election and moreso, cannot deliver his local government and senatorial district to the party, boasting of delivering the state to President Tinubu, saying the era of brigandage in politics is over.

With this statements, coming from these duo, who were once in Yahaya Bello’s camp signify the die is now cast for the camp, hence give room for Ododo/Bello’s camp to now think inward to fish out their enemies serving in government.

Sources close to the seat of power in the state told Confluence Times Online, that the Ododo/Bello camp have started strategising ahead. Some core loyalist of the group drawn from various local government areas, have been saddled with the responsibility to fish out traitors that are pretending to be with the group whereas, they are in the other camp.

The source further said, that some political appointees discovered playing double standard will be relieve of their positions, while those elected will be placed under watch list.

It also revealed that there is likely going to be change of leadership at the State Assembly at any moment, because the camp is no longer having confidence in some of the principal officers.

A political analyst, told confluence Times Online that the forthcoming APC party congresses will be last stroke that will break the camels back as both camp will come out with their preferred lists of executives which will lead to disagreement between the two camps, alas will result to parallel executives within the party, and will linger on to general election.
