Kogi State ADC to Present Candidates for the forthcoming October 2027 Council Polls.

The Kogi State chapter of Africa Democratic Party (ADC) have resolved to feature candidates into various elective positions for the forthcoming October 2026 local government elections in the state.

Briefing members and supporters of ADC in Ward ‘B’, the leader of the ward, Hon. Mohammed Abdulrahman Balga, told them that the North Central leader of the party, Senator, Dr. Tunde Jonathan Ogbeha, CON, charged all leaders from various wards to put modalities in place to present credible and viable candidates for the elections.

According to him, the leader Ogbeha, said it became necessary for the party to field in candidates not only in Kogi State but all over the states to test the acceptability and viability of the party by the people.

He however, revealed that the leader cautioned that, they should ensure those seeking to contest the elections must be people with integrity, acceptable, accessible and of unquestionable character.

Hon. Mohammed also disclosed that the party is fully ready in making sure all its candidates have the necessary support for the elections, as the party made available forms for the chairmanship and that of councillorship for interested aspirants.

The ward leader hinted the meeting that they were equally charged to make sure they arrived at amicable consensus in the choice of candidates so as to avoid rancour and acrimony.

He said, after exhaustive discussions at the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that Ward ‘B’ should produce candidate for the position of chairmanship and for that councillorship, the ward leaders go back to their various wards to sort it out.

Hon. Mohammed tabled the matter at the meeting for members to decide who’s to be considered for the plum position. Thereafter much discussions, and expression of views, the meeting resolved for Engr. Abubakar Katamba Ndarani as chairmanship candidate from SDP extraction, while Hon. Umar Ahmed Dikko was also nominated as councillorship candidate from PDP and from Karaworo axis of Ward ‘B’. The emergence of the candidates was done in line with the dictates of the coalition movement.
